PTC Meeting Dates
All meetings are held in the Eliot Performance Center

The purpose of the PTC is:
•To foster and maintain cooperation and understanding between parents, students, administration, and teachers.
•To provide a means whereby the parents can meet with representatives of the school to consider and act upon matters of common interest affecting the students and the school. (The School Committee and administration have the power to establish policies on academic and administrative matters.)
•To provide support and service to the administrative and teaching staff in planning and coordinating extra-curricular activities of the school.

PTC meetings are held monthly, and all parents and staff are welcome to attend. The PTC is committed to providing funds each year to the classroom teachers to purchase supplies and to fund transportation costs for class field trips. Other activities funded by the PTC may include special programs and purchasing equipment. Each PTC committee (except fundraising) is budgeted funds for their event or project. All parents are encouraged to support the programs that make Eliot special by giving generously to the Keep Eliot Extraordinary campaign. Checks can be made out to the John Eliot PTC and sent to the PTC mailbox in the school office at any time. All PTC funds go directly into school projects, functions, supplies, and equipment.

PTC Events for 2015-2016

Pastries & Popsicles with the Principal –September
A great time for new and returning students to meet our principal and for parents to gather and socialize.
Volunteers help to shop for the goodies, set-up, serve and with clean up at the end.

Fairytale Fitness –October
An event especially popular with our younger grades. Kids come dressed as their favorite fairytale character and participate in fitness events in the gym run by our gym teacher, Mr. Brenhiser and volunteers. Children can climb Jack’s beanstalk (knotted rope), climb Miss Muffet’s spider web (rope ladder), and many other fun activities.
Volunteers help to set-up, run the activities, and with clean up at the end.

Eliot Pumpkin Run –October
A wonderful opportunity for you to bring the whole family to our playground for some exercise and playtime. Mr. Brenhiser sets up a run/walk course around our playground and encourages the kids, parents and teachers to complete as many laps as possible. There are free pumpkins for everyone.
Volunteers help procure pumpkin donations, help to set up lap course and clean up at the end.

Family Fun Night –January 22 (Friday night @ time TBA)
A fun Eliot event for both parents and kids!
Volunteers collect admission, plan fun activities, serve pizza and refreshments, and clean up at the end.

The 4th & 5th Grade Spelling Bee – February 24 (Wednesday night - time TBA)
A spelling competition among teams of fourth and fifth grade students.
Volunteers assist with prize solicitation, collecting and serving refreshments and help the night of the event.

The annual Eliot/Hillside Basketball Game – March 4 (Friday night - time TBA)
This is a great opportunity for students to show their Eliot spirit while teachers and parents showcase their talent in a fun basketball game against Hillside teachers and parents.
Volunteers are needed to play on the team, recruit players and to help plan the event. On the night of the event, volunteers collect tickets and sell spirit ware and refreshments.

The Eliot Talent Show - May 14th (Saturday night - time TBA)

The Eliot School Picnic – June 8th (Wednesday night - time TBA)
Held at the end of the school year on the school grounds.
Volunteers plan the event, set up and clean up.
